In the midst of changes and turmoil
It can be easy to forget that peace is rooted in something deeper than systems
And leaders and policies.
These things do matter, and they should genuinely serve the people they are created for,
But they are not supreme
They are not in charge
They are not infinite,
They are secondary to our Great King
They bow down to the Leader and Creator of the Universe
They are finite.
So as the world rotates and power changes
Let us, yes, use our voices to fight for those on the margins and not turn a blind eye to injustice,
As our Lord did,
But let us also remember who our savior really is
And that His way will prevail
And on the other side of where we are now things will make sense
And we should remember, where we are now, that its ok to wonder about the things that don’t make sense, and its ok to lament and ask
But we ought never to lose sight that Peace is our foundation, and Peace is a person who hasn’t and isn’t forgetting about us.
