Donor Stewardship During COVID-19

Raising support to sustain a life of missions can be overwhelming. As we are continuing to feel the effects of COVID-19, we wanted to provide some vision and guidance when it comes to caring for your supporters and using this time to engage them well. People are hungry for community and understanding right now, we have an opportunity to cultivate community in the lives of those who support us!

  1. Reach out to your supporters and talk with them, ask how you can be praying for them right now. And then pray!

  2. Create Zoom events for supporters and invite them. Host a virtual lunch, create a space for prayer, virtual meals, Netflix and chat through their new google extension. The possibilities are limitless, be creative!

  3. Start a book club and meet (virtually) while you read something fun!

  4. Send an update. Instead of writing one, film something for them to watch! You can do this through Zoom and then attach your video in Mailchimp.

  5. Issue a health and fitness challenge

  6. Write them personalized notes. Who doesn’t love getting mail that isn’t junk!

  7. Plan and prepare for an upcoming season of support raising.

  8. Review your donor stewardship strategy and implement a new ideas.

  9. Renew your personal focus on God. Journal, read, pray, worship.
