As a ministry who has staff and many of our graduates living all over the world, we are busy monitoring the situation with COVID-19. Amidst all the news reports and fear, we want to remind you to keep your gaze fixed on Jesus.
We are praying for peace, rest, and wisdom in this season and are so thankful for your support.
We are praying as a ministry that you are healthy and that you aren't affected by the economic uncertainty, travel restrictions, and other impacts from coronavirus. We encourage you to turn to the Lord for wisdom, to trust in Him, and to minister in love to those around you.
In the days of the bubonic plague, the Christians were the ones who walked toward the sick to care for them. We pray that today the Church will continue to be a force of love in the midst of fear; responsibly trying not to spread the virus, but also lovingly caring for the sick and downtrodden.
Cafe 1040’s Response to COVID-19: (updated April 2020)
We have been monitoring the situation daily and are adhering to the guidelines and recommendations set forth by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO).
Our Crisis Management Team and Leadership Team have been closely monitoring the COVID- 19 Pandemic and our overseas teams have been briefed in preventive measures and symptomatic awareness.
Our summer programs have been cancelled and our mentor team is working diligently on a plan to care for our students throughout this process. The well-being and safety of our students and teams is of our upmost concern.
We have moved all of our stateside operations and all work gatherings to a virtual platform. Any events, travel, or gatherings have been postponed until April 30.
We encourage students to still reach out for a digital meeting with a missions mobilizer or to apply for fall or future semesters.
Pray:
For God to use this to make Himself known to the sick and brokenhearted.
For Cafe 1040’s Leadership and Crisis Management Teams. For wisdom, peace, and rest.
For the medical professionals that are working in hospitals and clinics.
For those people that will be and have been economically affected.
For Christians to love in Jesus’ name during this time.
A Word of Faith:
Pray through Psalm 91, that we would be faithful like Jesus and be protected like Jesus because the Spirit inside of us is more powerful than the power of this world.
My Refuge and My Fortress
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

Sit down and write letters to your friends and family. Steward this time well. Embrace the chance to slow down and be intentional in ways you might not usually be. Honor the people around you and their health. These weeks haven’t caught the Lord off-guard. “
